ping978EC is designed to meet UK CAA EC regulations for BVLOS UAS operations. It broadcasts ADS-B Out on 978MHz UAT while receiving ADS-B In from drones and crewed aircraft on 978MHz and 1090Mhz in real time dramatically improving drone operator awareness of threats in the area including aircraft beyond line of sight.
ping978EC is the world’s smallest and lightest full range ADS-B transceiver. ADS-B helps aircraft operators sense and avoid possible collisions through a constant exchange of real time position data. uAvionix has miniaturized ADS-B equipment to make it usable for small drones. ping978EC measures 25mm x 50mm x 18mm, which is a fraction of the size of earlier units. At just 22 grams (26 grams with antenna), ping978EC is ideal for UAS applications to improve safety with minimal impact to capability and performance.
